Fourth of July, 2005

Washington D.C.

On the 4th of July, we had the opportunity to do the following:  1) Visit the National Archives where the Declaration of Independence was publicly read by historical reenactors. In addition, we saw the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, & Bill of Rights;  2) Watch the D.C. parade down Constitution Avenue;  3) Visit the Smithsonian Institute's Indian multi-cultural festival;  4) Attend the PBS-broadcasted concert at the Capitol, where the Beach Boys, Gloria Estefan, & the National Symphony Orchestra performed.  5) Watch the fireworks in front of the Washington Monument
